Children’s Healthcare of Atlanta has announced plans to begin the construction of a brand new, massive campus called North Druid Hills Campus off I-85. Construction is scheduled to begin in 2020 and is including roadwork along I-85. Plans are still being reviewed.
The new campus is designed to replace the current location near Emory University and will include the advanced pediatric center, a 446-bed hospital, 20 acres of green-space and walking areas, and other support buildings that all replace old single-story buildings that are approximately 50 years old.
“Our goal is simple – to help children get better faster,” said Donna Hyland, CEO of Children’s Healthcare of Atlanta. “Georgia’s pediatric population is growing, and our new campus will allow us to meet our state’s needs while improving health outcomes for our patients in a transformative environment for our patient families, physicians, staff, and our neighbors.”
The project is slated to be complete by 2026 and is committed to $40 million on road projects and $1 billion project to the campus build.
